Yesterday I found out very good text by psychologist Susan Weinschenk. Well, it's rather a cheat sheet than an article but it has key points listed. I was quite amazed when I read it as in many sections I found myself thinking: "exactly! - this I read from that book". There was also a new section for me which was about social contacts.

Dr. Weinschenk divided the design in three professions: visual designer, interaction design and programming.

The story of the elephant reminds me of the different view of design that people of different backgrounds, education, and experience have. A visual designer approaches UX design from one point of view, the interaction designer from another, and the programmer from yet another.

At that point something knock in my mind as I felt good to be a programmer, I felt good to be interested in psychology and interaction design, and I felt that I also have some artistic skills. That is, it would be superior to have all needed design ability in one person. Well, I feel like one and half out of three but still it's nice feeling when you understand that you have been given talent, you recognize them, and you drive to use them. Nevertheless I subscribed to the magazine and hope to joy with new articles.
